Desigualdad económica y el impacto de las transferencias monetarias en el Estado de Veracruz, México, 2008-2020

Income inequality in Mexico is extremely high and the federal states are considerably heterogeneous, which why a regional analysis allows us to identify fundamental characteristics, trends, conditions for implementation of redistributive policies. We used microdata from National Household Expenditure Survey (ENIGH) analyze evolution income state Veracruz during 2008-2020 period; To its sources investigate how it was affected by monetary transfers, decomposition method ENIGH preliminary COVID-19 effects. The results show evidence decrease relatively marginally, identified that observed can be attributed cash transfers. In recent years, transfers represented 30% lowest deciles (I, II, III) elasticity Gini coefficient indicates their increase represents inequality.
